Lloyd's & Ireland Launch Irish Insurtech Accelerator in 2026

Lloyd's and Ireland's Department of Finance have joined forces to launch an Irish-themed cohort within the Lloyd's Lab Accelerator Programme. This initiative, set to begin in the first half of 2026, is aimed at insurtech innovators focusing on areas like flood risk, cyber, AI, and export finance. The programme received a vote of confidence from Ireland's Minister for Finance, Paschal Donohoe TD, and pride from Lloyd's Chief Executive, Patrick Tiernan. The call for applications opens on December 10, 2025.

The new programme is a result of a partnership aimed at fostering insurtech innovation and strengthening market resilience. Both Lloyd's and Ireland's Department of Finance will promote the programme and provide technical support. The Lloyd's Lab, which serves as a launchpad for scalable innovation, will host the Accelerator as its core programme. A Statement of Intent has been signed to deepen cooperation and support innovation in the Irish insurance sector. Notably, Ireland's gross signed premium in the Lloyd's market reached €661 million in 2024.

The Irish-themed cohort of the Lloyd's Lab Accelerator Programme presents an opportunity for companies and innovators to contribute to insurtech advancement. With the backing of both Lloyd's and Ireland's Department of Finance, this initiative is expected to enhance resilience and unlock new premium. The programme's opening on December 10, 2025, marks the start of this exciting collaboration.
