Luxeed initiates pre-orders for two newly revised models as the Huawei-supported brand advances into its 'Phase 2.0' developmental stage.

Luxeed, the electric vehicle brand jointly owned by Huawei and Chery, is set to expand its lineup with the upcoming launch of a new MPV model. According to recent reports, this MPV is expected to be released in the first half of 2026 [1][2][3].

The new Luxeed MPV will be built on Chery's E0X-L platform and will be the first MPV under Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) business. Notably, the MPV replaces Chery's previously planned Sterra E08 luxury MPV, which was discontinued to consolidate resources under Luxeed and avoid internal competition [2][3].

The upcoming Luxeed MPV will offer both pure-electric and extended-range electric variants, utilising batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) [2]. The vehicle is positioned to target the approximately $50,000 USD price segment, positioning it as a premium electric MPV option [2][5].

The engineering team from the cancelled Exeed Exlantix E08 project has been partially transferred to the MPV program, indicating a focus on leveraging advanced expertise [2]. This move aligns with growing demand for EV MPVs in China, where MPV sales grew nearly 50% year-on-year in H1 2025 [2].

The Luxeed MPV will compete with upcoming offerings from brands like Aito (Seres) and Stelato (BAIC) [2].

Meanwhile, Luxeed has also announced the launch of the updated S7 pure electric sedan and the updated R7 coupe SUV as part of its Phase 2.0. Interested customers can reserve either model for RMB 2,000 and receive a RMB 5,000 discount on the final purchase price [4]. The pre-sale prices for the updated Luxeed S7 and R7 are RMB 258,000 and RMB 268,000, respectively [6][7].

The all-new S7 and R7 are equipped with a 192-channel LiDAR, a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR, and five 4D millimeter-wave radars [8]. They also feature Huawei's ADS 4 driver assistance system and are built with Huawei's full-stack technologies [9]. The Luxeed R7 is available in battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, with starting prices ranging from RMB 249,800 to RMB 339,800 [10].

The updated Luxeed S7 had received over 10,000 pre-orders in the first hour after pre-sales started [11]. The currently available Luxeed S7 comes in three variants: Pro, Max, and Ultra, with starting prices of RMB 229,800, RMB 269,800, and RMB 319,800, respectively [12]. The pre-sale prices for the updated Luxeed S7 and R7, mentioned earlier, are RMB 258,000 and RMB 268,000, respectively [6][7].

Luxeed plans to invest over RMB 10 billion and expand its R&D team to 5,000 people to strengthen its technological leadership [13]. The company has also established a new energy vehicle (NEV) company exclusively for Luxeed, with independent production, sales, and service operations [14].

In summary, Luxeed's upcoming MPV is a strategic, premium electric vehicle targeting strong market growth, backed by Huawei's technology and Chery's platform and expertise, scheduled for release in early 2026 [1][2][3][5]. The updated S7 and R7, on the other hand, are expected to officially launch in September [15].
