Meet the Clavier: Unique 105-Key Keyboard with Coffee Key and FPGA Design
Meet the Clavier, a unique full-size 105-key ISO keyboard crafted by Lambert Sartory. This keyboard stands out with an additional coffee key and a 1000 Hz polling rate.
The Clavier's versatility comes from its various interfaces, including JTAG, SPI, I2C, UART, and a USB hub. It's built around an FPGA instead of a microcontroller, offering customisation options. Sartory implemented the USB HID stack in VHDL on a Lattice ECP5 chip, manufactured by Lattice Semiconductor. The keyboard uses Cherry MX compatible switches and supports N-key rollover.
The coffee key serves a dual purpose: it can lock the attached computer or reset the FPGA. Building your own keyboard, like the Clavier, allows for such unique features and tailored interfaces.
The Clavier keyboard, built by Lambert Sartory, offers a blend of customisability and practicality. With its additional coffee key, multiple interfaces, and FPGA-based design, it's a standout choice for enthusiasts seeking a unique keyboard experience.
