Metaverse Shopping Hub debuts, broadening the scope of Worldline's Metaverse white-label solution in conjunction with its German joint venture, PAYONE.

Worldline Launches Second Season of Metaverse Shopping Mall in Spatial

Worldline, a European leader in the payment and transaction services industry, has announced the launch of the second season of its Metaverse Shopping Mall in the Spatial platform. This expansion aims to create a new shopping experience with innovative customer engagement methods.

Sascha Muenger, Head of Competence Center Crypto Related Products & Metaverse at Worldline, made the announcement. The Metaverse Shopping Mall is part of Worldline's broader Metaverse strategy, which includes offerings in Metaverse Advertising, Phygital Experiences, and Augmented Reality solutions.

The Worldline Metaverse Shopping Hub, now available across various Metaverse platforms, including Spatial, offers major advances in graphical quality and accessibility across desktop, mobile, and VR devices. This extension provides merchants who do not have a Metaverse presence with a market-leading shopping deal.

Worldline's Metaverse solution includes expansive payment options, offering up to 150 methods, including credit and debit cards, E-wallets, mobile payments, and buy-now-pay-later services. This ensures a seamless shopping experience for customers.

The geographical expansion of the Metaverse Shopping Hub will help to further scale the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Mall, allowing more merchants to gain initial experience around the ama (Metaverse). Spatial offers accessibility to the Metaverse through various means beyond computers, including virtual reality headsets and smartphones.

PAYONE, a joint venture between Worldline and the German Savings Banks Association (DSV Group), will distribute the Worldline Metaverse White Label solution in Germany and Austria, starting in the 1st quarter of 2024. Viljem Brielmayer, Head of Product Management at PAYONE, expressed his pleasure at bringing another substantial innovation to the German and Austrian shopping market.

Season two within Spatial will provide new customer engagement methods supportive of the digital environment's pre-existing intuitive behaviors. Merchants can incentivize users to participate in virtual scavenger hunts, allowing them to collect digital eggs in exchange for community card NFT rewards. This encourages user interaction and fosters stronger relationships between merchants and their customers within the new Metaverse environment.

The metaverse e-commerce marketplace is estimated to reach US$2.6 trillion by 2030, according to McKinsey. This collaboration between Worldline and PAYONE aims to bring global innovation to important local markets in Germany and Austria.

Worldline [Euronext: WLN] has released the Worldline Metaverse Shopping Hub within Spatial, a platform extension for merchants seeking access to the Metaverse. This move is expected to revolutionise the shopping experience and pave the way for a more immersive and interactive online shopping journey using Shopify and other platforms.
