MI6 Launches Secret Dark Web Recruitment Drive
MI6 has launched a secretive recruitment drive using a secure messaging platform called Silent Courier, hosted on the dark web's Tor network. The UK's foreign intelligence agency aims to attract individuals with access to sensitive information, particularly in Russia and other global hotspots. The new initiative, supported by Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, is set to bolster MI6's efforts to keep the UK safe.
The platform, Silent Courier, was unveiled by outgoing MI6 chief Sir Richard Moore in Istanbul. It's designed to recruit spies rather than intelligence officers, targeting individuals who may have access to crucial information on terrorism or hostile intelligence activity. MI6 advises potential recruits to download the Tor browser using an unassociated device and internet connection for secure access.
Access instructions for Silent Courier are available on a verified YouTube account, offering guidance in multiple languages. The platform is hosted on an onion site within the Tor network, ensuring enhanced security and anonymity for users. Blaise Metreweli, the incoming chief of MI6, will take over from Sir Richard Moore at the end of this month, overseeing this innovative recruitment strategy.
MI6's Silent Courier initiative marks a new approach to global recruitment, leveraging secure dark web technology to reach out to potential spies. With the support of the Foreign Secretary and the incoming chief, MI6 aims to strengthen its intelligence gathering capabilities and further protect the UK's national security.
