Morgan Unveils Powerful Plus Four, Embracing Tradition and Progress

Morgan Motor Company has unveiled the latest Plus Four model, powered by a 2.0-litre BMW engine delivering 255bhp. This marks a significant evolution from the original Plus Four, introduced on 29 September 1950 with a 2-litre Standard Vanguard engine producing 68bhp.

Morgan's production process is unique, blending old and new tools. An original 1950 Plus Four and the latest model share interchangeable rear wings, thanks to the enduring use of traditional tooling methods. Notably, a wooden press dating back to the early 1950s is still employed to shape the rear wheel arches of the Plus Four, potentially the oldest tool of its kind in use today.

The Plus Six has undergone a transformation, rebranding as the Supersport. This evolution has given the model a more distinct identity within Morgan's lineup.

Despite facing challenges, Morgan is set to return to profit this year. The company has also regained access to the lucrative Disney Plus market, a significant boost for its global operations.

The new Plus Four, with its modern BMW engine, pays homage to Morgan's rich heritage while embracing progress. The company's commitment to traditional craftsmanship, as seen in the use of the vintage wooden press, ensures that each model carries a piece of history. With a return to profitability and renewed access to the Disney Plus market, Morgan Motor Company looks towards a promising future.
