New appointee announced for the role of Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered Bangladesh.
**Standard Chartered Bangladesh Welcomes New CFO: Idrissa Kamara**
Idrissa Kamara has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Standard Chartered Bangladesh, effective from July 2025. With over three decades of experience in finance and enterprise leadership, Mr. Kamara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Born and raised in Sierra Leone, Mr. Kamara began his career with Standard Chartered in 2003. Since then, he has held various senior finance roles within the organisation, including serving as CFO in different locations. His most recent position was as CEO of Standard Chartered Cameroon, where he played a key role in the bank's transformation initiative, Project Crown.
Mr. Kamara's appointment marks a return to Standard Chartered after holding various roles within the organisation. He re-joined Standard Chartered in 2015 as CEO for Sierra Leone. In 2013, he was appointed Managing Director and CEO of Sierra Leone Commercial Bank, a position he held before joining Standard Chartered Cameroon.
Mr. Kamara holds an MBA from Oxford Brookes University and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). These qualifications and his extensive experience make him a valuable addition to the Standard Chartered Bangladesh team.
