New Holland Introduces Emission-Free T7 Methan Power Tractor Supply

In a bid to reduce emissions and promote sustainability, New Holland has unveiled the T7 Methan Power, a new tractor that runs on biomethane. This innovative tractor is already making waves, with Schnackenberg GmbH, a biogas plant operator, adopting the T7 Methan Power and installing its own CNG filling station on the farm.

The T7-CNG, as it is named, is equipped with a FPT NEF six-cylinder engine specifically designed for biomethane. This engine uses spark-ignition engine technology, a departure from the diesel engines traditionally used in tractors. The engine's simplicity is further demonstrated by the use of a simple three-way catalytic converter for exhaust aftertreatment.

Refueling the T7.270 Methan Power takes approximately 3 minutes, and overnight slow-fill refueling can fully charge the tractor's tanks by morning. The T7.270 Methan Power holds approximately 120 kg of biomethane, providing up to 10 hours of work.

The T7.270 Methan Power delivers performance similar to diesel, with 271 HP and 1,160 Nm of torque. However, the tractor's engine produces less exhaust due to less aftertreatment compared to diesel engines, making it a cleaner and more efficient power bi option.

Operating the T7.270 Methan Power can save up to 10,000 euros per year compared to diesel. With self-generated biomethane, the savings can reach over 24,000 euros per year. Additionally, the reduction in maintenance costs and increased reliability are benefits of the T7 CNG's emission-free combustion.

Methane burns almost emission-free in the T7 CNG, contributing to a quieter operation due to significantly reduced engine noise. The T7-CNG's AutoCommand transmission ensures optimal RPM and fuel consumption for efficiency.

While the company that introduced the T7 Methan Power for operation in biogas plants is not explicitly named in the provided search results, it is clear that the T7-CNG is a promising solution for farms and biogas plants looking to reduce their carbon footprint and save on operating costs.
