Panasonic Expands Pilsen Factory, Boosts Air-to-Water Heat Pump Production by 250%

Panasonic has invested €320m in expanding and upgrading its factory in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The site will now serve as the company's primary European production and R&D hub for air-to-water heat pump solutions, creating new skilled jobs in the country.

The expansion includes a newly constructed building, spanning 102,000sqm, which will increase production capacity by 250%. Panasonic is also increasing in-house production of essential components to around 70%. The annual capacity is set to reach 1.4 million units by 2030, with the daily production capacity planned to reach the same figure by then.

Tetsumasa Mizuta, general manager, stated that production is on track to more than double compared to 2024. The factory aims for carbon neutrality by 2050 and zero CO2 emissions by the end of 2025. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala remarked that the investment strengthened the competitiveness of Czech industry.
