Piyush Jain, the Co-Founder and CEO of CarePal Group, honored with the 2025 Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Innovation Award.

Piyush Jain, the visionary Co-founder and CEO of CarePal Group and Impact Guru, has been recognised for his transformative contributions to healthcare financing in India. At a ceremony held at the Harvard Kennedy School on May 16, 2025, during the alumni reunion weekend, Piyush was awarded the prestigious 2025 Alumni Innovation Award from the HKS Alumni Board at Harvard University.

Piyush Jain's journey began during his time as a student at Harvard Kennedy School, where he first conceived the idea for CarePal Group. Since then, he has co-founded several entities under the CarePal umbrella, including CarePal Money and CarePal Secure.

CarePal Money, a healthcare lending marketplace, offers 0% interest healthcare loans in India, enabling over 1,200 patients to access non-critical treatments without financial distress within just 18 months. This is achieved through partnerships with healthcare providers and lending institutions.

CarePal Secure, another CarePal entity, provides innovative health benefits and insurance plans to over 200,000 customers, addressing critical gaps for India's underinsured middle class and lower-income population.

Impact Guru, incubated at the Harvard Innovation Labs, has supported over 50,000 patients and engaged 4.5 million donors globally. Piyush Jain's leadership and use of technology-based innovation have been instrumental in tackling complex challenges in healthcare.

CarePal Group is an integrated healthcare finance ecosystem that combines a medical lending marketplace solution (CarePal Money), insurance and protection solutions (CarePal Secure), and a crowdfunding technology platform (Impact Guru) for healthcare financing.

The Alumni Innovation Award recognises HKS alumni who demonstrate exceptional leadership, creativity, and dedication to create positive change for individuals and communities using technology. This year, Piyush Jain joins a distinguished group of award winners that includes Natalia Gavrilita, Sebastian Burduja, Carol Finney, and Lisa B. Sloane.

Piyush's mission for CarePal Group is to make healthcare more affordable and accessible for millions of families across India and beyond. By 2030, he aims to positively support over 1 million customers' healthcare financing needs. With his relentless pursuit of innovation and his unwavering commitment to improving healthcare accessibility, Piyush Jain continues to lead the way in transforming healthcare financing in India.
