Q&A Session with Anna Terebelo, Editor

In the bustling world of television production, Anna Terebelo has made a name for herself as an accomplished editor. Originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, Terebelo moved to Los Angeles over a decade ago with little more than ambition and determination.

After spending six months working odd jobs, Terebelo landed her first break in the industry as a post production assistant. It was here that she honed her skills by shadowing and learning from assistant editors. A year later, she was promoted to assistant editor, a role she has excelled in ever since.

Terebelo's workflow is characterised by a disciplined approach, fuelled primarily by water and almonds during those long sessions. When it comes to editing software, she predominantly uses Avid Media Composer, a robust tool known for its integration with post-production workflows. She also frequently relies on Continuum and Sapphire for specialized tasks.

In the industry, editors often complement their primary software with other tools for colour grading, visual effects, or audio editing. Terebelo's arsenal includes the Boris FX Suite, which is available for a free trial.

As she transitions from assistant editor to editor, Terebelo draws inspiration from a diverse range of films and TV series, including classics like Schindler's List, Titanic, and I, Tonya, as well as contemporary favourites such as Brooklyn 99, Friends, Schitt's Creek, Sex Education, Shameless, The Handmaid's Tale, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.

When facing creative burnout, Terebelo turns to walks and podcasts, or finds solace in painting, a creative outlet that allows her to express herself away from the screen. If given a chance to advise her younger self, Terebelo would remind herself to be patient, maintain a work/life balance, and go out on walks.

In her office, Terebelo enjoys the occasional snack of yummy apple/peanut butter bites. She also has aspirations to collaborate with industry heavyweights such as Wendy Hallam Martin, Stephen Spielberg, Tatiana Maslany, and Quinta Brunson.

As Terebelo continues to make her mark in the industry, her dedication, talent, and unique perspective promise to keep audiences captivated for years to come.

Terebelo frequently uses technology, such as Avid Media Composer, Continuum, Sapphire, and the Boris FX Suite, to edit movies-and-tv shows, drawing inspiration from a diverse range of gadgets like her water bottle and almonds, as well as classic and contemporary films and TV series. During her free time, she recharges her creativity by indulging in walks, podcasts, or painting, and dreams of collaborating with industry veterans like Wendy Hallam Martin, Stephen Spielberg, Tatiana Maslany, and Quinta Brunson.
