**Toyota Unveils Sixth-Generation RAV4 with Hybrid Efficiency and Advanced Technology**

The sixth-generation Toyota RAV4, introduced in 2025, promises a significant leap forward in hybrid efficiency, powertrain options, and battery range. Since its launch in 1994, the RAV4 has become a global success, with over 15 million units sold worldwide, and last year, it claimed the title of the best-selling vehicle in the United States.

The new RAV4 is now exclusively available as a hybrid, featuring a standard hybrid model with front-wheel drive producing 183 horsepower and an all-wheel-drive variant with 191 horsepower. A front-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model offers a combined output of 268 horsepower, with a larger battery for extended electric-only driving. An updated PHEV version in later models may reach up to 320 horsepower.

The RAV4 offers a 100 km electric range in some configurations, and the PHEV version provides approximately 42 miles (about 68 km) of electric range. The new RAV4 can be charged to 80% in just 30 minutes using a 50kW DC charger.

The sixth-generation RAV4 boasts a striking new design with a bold grille, sleek LED headlights, and aggressive curves. The interior includes advanced digital features like a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, both standard in all versions. The vehicle is built on Toyota's GA-K platform, enhancing stability and performance.

A sportier GR Sport variant is also available, catering to those seeking a more dynamic driving experience. The RAV4 GR Sport rides on 20mm lower suspension and features bespoke exterior styling. Some details in the RAV4 GR Sport's interior are said to be inspired by Toyota's World Rally Championship race cars. The interior of the RAV4 GR Sport features aluminium pedals, faux leather, and suede upholstery.

The new RAV4 will be equipped with a new generation of Toyota Safety Sense, including front cross-traffic alert, enhanced blind-spot monitoring, and an improved 3D panoramic-view parking aid. All versions of the 2026 RAV4 come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.9-inch central touchscreen, powered by Toyota's Arene infotainment system, offering real-time navigation data and enhanced voice commands.

In the UK, the new RAV4 will only be offered with plug-in hybrid powertrains, while other markets will have the option to purchase a conventional 'full hybrid' RAV4. The new RAV4's 22.7kWh battery pack offers a pure electric range of 62 miles.
