Ruger RXM: Glock G19 Rival with Optics-Ready Slide and Compatible Magazines

Ruger has launched the RXM, a new striker-fired pistol mirroring the dimensions of the Glock 19 Gen3. It's optics-ready, with a trigger akin to a Glock Gen5's, and uses Glock magazines.

The RXM boasts identical dimensions to the Glock 19 Gen3: a 4-inch barrel, 7.2-inch length, 5.3-inch height, 1 cm width, and 23.2 ounces in weight. Its slide is cut for RMR-, DeltaPoint Pro-, and RMSc/Holosun K-series-footprint optics, offering versatility.

The pistol's trigger is praised for its simplicity, with minimal creep or mush, comparable to a Glock Gen5's. For optics, the Shield Sights RMS2 red-dot sight, made by Vector Optics, fits perfectly. It features automatic brightness detection and an impressive 20,000-hour battery life. A slight aesthetic gap in the optics cut on the RXM does not affect functionality or fitment.

The Crucial Concealment Ambi Covert IWB holster is an excellent choice for the RXM. It's ambidextrous, allowing adjustable cant and retention. With taco-style construction and mid-length sweatguards, it ensures comfortable concealed carry. Additionally, it's cut for a micro-red-dot sight, accommodating the RMS2.

The Ruger RXM, with its Glock magazine compatibility and versatile optics-ready slide, offers a compelling alternative to the Glock 19. Its trigger, holster options, and red-dot sight compatibility make it a solid choice for both range and concealed carry.
