Kwikset and DoorBird Partner to Simplify Smart Home Access

In a move to enhance home security and convenience, Kwikset, a leading manufacturer of smart locks, has partnered with DoorBird, a renowned provider of video door stations, to integrate their devices. The new integration allows residents to remotely unlock their Kwikset Halo smart locks during a live video call with visitors directly within the DoorBird app, without the need for a separate hub.

The integration, which functions over a common Wi-Fi network, provides real-time, low-latency interaction between residents and visitors. Communication between devices in the integrated system is encrypted and secured with authentication protocols to ensure privacy and safety.

To use this feature, users simply need to link their Kwikset Halo account to the DoorBird app. Once linked, they can seamlessly control their smart locks while engaging with visitors through DoorBird’s advanced video intercom system. This means a homeowner can see and speak with a visitor at their door and then unlock the door remotely within the same app interface, streamlining access management without switching platforms.

This partnership is part of the broader synergy within the ASSA ABLOY Group, and the combined solution will be showcased live at CEDIA Expo 2025 (booth #1329). Attendees at the expo will have the opportunity to experience the integration firsthand and discuss it with product experts from Kwikset and DoorBird.

DoorBird Founder & CEO Sascha Keller stated that being part of the ASSA ABLOY Group allows for deeper collaborations to deliver integrated solutions beneficial to customers. This integration is just one example of the innovative partnerships that are being forged to make smart home living more accessible and secure.
