Snowflake Launches Managed Cortex Platform Server for Financial Data Integration

Snowflake has launched its Managed Cortex Platform (MCP) Server, a service that enables organizations to integrate and analyze both their own and third-party data, with a focus on the financial sector initially.

The MCP Server connects with various Cortex services and Knowledge Extensions, offering users a wide range of data processing and analysis tools. These include Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Snowflake Data Science Agent, and Snowflake Cortex AISQL. Additionally, users can access third-party data from providers like CB Insights, FactSet, and The Associated Press through Cortex Knowledge Extensions.

The MCP Server supports both structured and unstructured data. It can connect to data from providers such as CB Insights, Cotality, Deutsche Börse, MSCI, and Nasdaq eVestment via Sharing of Semantic Views. The service is secured using standard Snowflake Role-based Access Controls (RBAC).

Snowflake has also equipped its Cortex AI service with the new MCP Server and third-party integrations, making it easier for financial services companies to use their own data in agent-based applications.

The MCP Server is a significant addition to Snowflake's offerings, providing a managed service that simplifies data integration and analysis. It opens up new possibilities for organizations to leverage both their own and third-party data, initially focusing on the financial sector with plans to expand to other verticals.
