Tech revolution is brought closer as Meta reveals Ray-Ban Display glasses, set to redefine the concept of wearable tech on your face.
Meta Introduces Ray-Ban Meta Display Smart Glasses
Meta has made a significant leap in the world of technology with the introduction of the Ray-Ban Meta Display smart glasses. Slated for release in September 2025, these innovative glasses are set to revolutionise the way we navigate, communicate, and experience the world.
Priced at $799, the Ray-Ban Meta Display smart glasses offer a host of advanced features. These include phone-free turn-by-turn navigation, live translation capabilities, and real-time captions during conversations. The glasses resemble Ray-Ban's iconic Wayfarer model, boasting a distinct square outline and slightly rounded edges.
The highlight of these meta glasses is the high-resolution in-lens display, a first in the industry. This display, custom-built with a light engine, provides sharp, bright visuals with 42 pixels per degree of view. The lens also gets a slight curve to help reduce glare from screens and other sources of light.
The in-lens display has minimal light leakage, with just 2% escaping. This means that the user's vision remains unobstructed, and the display's visuals remain crisp and clear. The display is strategically placed off to the side to avoid obstructing the user's view.
The Ray-Ban Meta Display smart glasses are designed to work seamlessly with Meta's AI. They leverage Meta's AI for multimodal interaction, allowing users to control the glasses via voice, touchpad, or the Neural Band armband, which recognises muscle signals.
The glasses also come with the EMG Meta Neural Band, a wearable device with an 18-hour battery life and an IPX7 water rating. This band provides hands-free control, allowing users to interact with the glasses without the need for physical touch.
The meta stock is lightweight, weighing only 69 grams. They also boast an impressive 18-hour battery life, with an additional 30 hours provided by the charging case. The over-extension hinges are made using titanium for durability and a lightweight design.
A capture LED indicates when the camera is recording, ensuring transparency and privacy. The glasses also feature a 12-megapixel camera and built-in speakers, enhancing their multimedia capabilities.
Meta is bringing the Ray-Ban Meta Display glasses with integrated display, EMG Meta Neural Band, and 18-hour battery life to market in September 2025. These meta glasses are set to redefine the future of technology, offering a seamless blend of style and functionality.
