Telstra Expands Private Cloud to Melbourne with Dell and VMware

Telstra has expanded its Private Cloud service to Melbourne, with availability starting from November 30. The service is designed for consistent, always-on workloads and offers predictable cost and performance. It is built secure by design and certified against the ISO27001 security framework.

Customers can now purchase a virtual data centre in Sydney and/or Melbourne. The platform is delivered using Dell's APEX Data Centre Utility solution, with Renee DeLaine, Senior Director, Global Alliances at Dell Technologies, highlighting the unique solution for local businesses, providing confidence, control, and pay-as-you-use pricing. VMware provides the virtualisation layer for Telstra Private Cloud, which is built on dedicated infrastructure, owned and hosted in Australia. The service offers security, compliance, and networking at its core, with Angela Logothetis, Group Owner for Edge and Cloud at Telstra, mentioning increasing sophistication in Australian organisations' cloud needs.
