Tesla's Robot Taxi Makes Its Initial Appearance on Texas Roadways.

On the bustling streets of Austin, Texas, a driverless Tesla Model Y was steering its way - according to our site's report.

A clip posted on Terrapin Terpene Col's X account captured the electric car making a turn on South Congress Avenue, devoid of a human driver behind the wheel. The car's door sported the graffiti tag "Robotaxi". Tesla enthusiast Sean Merritt also shared the video.

Ashok Elluswamy, the head of Autonomy and AI at Tesla, retweeted the video, throwing some fuel to the fire with his comment, "Slowly at first, then..." - a confirmation that the vehicle in question was indeed a Tesla.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, had previously hinted at the commencement of unsupervised Robotaxi services, with cars being operated sans human drivers. He'd set June as the tentative launch month for this service in Austin, with the cars under continuous remote monitoring[2].

"Initially, we'll be keeping a watchful eye on what the cars are up to, and as trust grows, our monitoring efforts will gradually decrease," CNBC quoted Musk as saying[3].
