The Conjuring Universe is descending upon Six Flags Fright Fest, and it's gonna freakin' awesome! This fall, you'll get to step into the horrifying world of the Warrens and their most chilling cases, not just from the original Conjuring series, but also The Nun and Annabelle flicks.

Kathleen Wallis, Vice President of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, shared some juicy insights with us about this devilish collaboration:

"Ever since The Conjuring Universe became a horror frenzy, we've been itching to delve deeper into its dark secrets and bring its brilliant stories to life. The maze we've crafted, in partnership with Six Flags and RWS Global, is a screamin' good time - a twisted tale that's sure to make fans' hearts race with fear."

As a hint, the maze kicks off in the Warren Museum of the Occult, where curiously missing objects will steer you through the web of paranormal happenings. The Conjuring Universe mazes are to be a part of Six Flags Fright Fests at Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Over Texas, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas from early September through November 3. Feast your eyes on some exclusive sneak peeks from the maze, and don't forget to check out our Q&A with the Chief Fright Officer of Six Flags, Edithann Ramey, to get the scoop on everything Conjuring!

This interview was conducted via electronic mail

Germain Lussier, io9: Never before have we seen the sinister forces of the Conjuring, Annabelle, and The Nun franchise converge in one place. What was it like weaving an immersive maze around these interwoven horror stories?

Edithann Ramey: Being the first to create an experience where these three chilling franchises unite is a privilege we don't take lightly. Pairing brilliance with terror, we crafted an interactive story that's gotta scare the bejesus out of you while seamlessly blending the unique elements of each film. It's like stumbling upon a horrifying novel, except this time, you're living it.

Io9: Just how cryptic does the story get? Will the stories of these dark entities intertwine, or will each franchise maintain its own sinister vibe?

Ramey: It's a diabolical dance between terror and intrigue. The maze weaves through the Warren Museum of the Occult, providing a fertile ground for all three franchises to make an appearance. But here's the kicker: at any moment, you never know who - or what – will turn up. It's a spine-tingling guessing game that'll keep you on your toes throughout the entire maze experience.

Io9: What sets the Conjuring maze apart from other scary attractions at Fright Fest?

Ramey: Unlike other mazes, we have an epic blend of three outrageously terrifying franchises – all in one! And it doesn't stop there. At Six Flags, thrills are our bread and butter. With this maze, we've raised the (Panic) bar, weaving a twisted story that leaves no stone unturned and no nerve unshaken. So buckle up and brace yourself for a killer ride.

Io9: With Universal Horror Nights serving up horrifying experiences right around the corner, was it a strategic move to delve into the realm of recognized franchises and shake things up without stepping on anyone's toes?

Ramey: Horror and thrills go hand in hand, both offering scary good fun for guests. We wanted to test out the waters to see if fans would love horror-themed mazes, and we couldn't be happier with the positive response we received. So with more support than ever – and a cast of creepy characters waiting in the wings – we dove headfirst into the terrifying world of the Conjuring Universe and away we went!

Io9: Give us a peek at what kind of teasers visitors might find hinting at upcoming films in the Conjuring franchise. What treats do you have waiting for eager fans?

Ramey: While I can't speak for the upcoming films, I can assure you the maze sets the stage for fans to get even more fired up about the mysterious world of the Conjuring Universe. Who knows - maybe you'll happen upon a clue that'll keep you on the edge of your seat until the next movie hits theaters. One thing's for sure, Fright Fest is the ultimate teaser for any creepy cinematic adventure to come.

Beyond the Conjuring franchise, Fright Fest will boast mazes dedicated to Stranger Things, Army of the Dead, Trick R'Treat, and Saw, as well as an experience centered on Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The specific offerings vary from park to park, so dig into the gory details here. To treat your eyes to some exclusive maze designs, feast your peepers on the malevolent Malthus Demon below.
