Traditional Finance Professionals Let Loose at the Playful Extravaganza of Coinfest Asia

Coinfest Asia 2024, held in Nuanu City, Bali, was a resounding success, attracting over 6,000 participants from around the globe. The event, which hosted over 150 global crypto and Web3 experts, featured 100 panel discussions and side events, making it a hub for industry insights and networking opportunities.

One of the unique aspects of Coinfest Asia 2024 was the presence of a human-sized cardboard cutout of Lionel Messi at Bitget's booth. Christopher Rodil and Punnara Akamatsu, representatives from Bitget, were interviewed, explaining the presence of the iconic footballer.

The number of participants at Coinfest Asia increased by 50% from its inaugural year in 2022 to 2024, demonstrating the growing interest in the event. Yat Siu, co-founder of Animoca Brands, was one of the keynote speakers at the event. He discussed the impact of TradFi money on the crypto industry, particularly on metaverse and blockchain gaming, and shared insights on how TradFi can complement Web3 and Animoca Brands' strategies to adapt to new market demands.

Coinfest Asia 2024 was designed to be more immersive, incorporating activities tailored to various audiences. One of the highlights was the panel on "Navigating the Ever-Changing Crypto Market," moderated by Blockhead co-founder Cohan Chew. The panel included Alex Rumondor, Alex Svanevik, Michael Lau, Vugar Usi Zade, and many more.

Ripple's senior director, Ross Edwards, was also a first-time attendee at Coinfest Asia 2024. He shared his thoughts on his first experience at the event and in Bali. ZKEX founder Balal Khan was also happy to be back at Coinfest, expressing his enthusiasm for the event.

The panel on "The LSD Effect of Liquid (Re)Staking" was another interesting session at Coinfest Asia 2024. Moderated by BRN's lead research analyst Valentin Fournier, the panel included Daniel Anthony Wong and Andy Cho.

Looking ahead, Coinfest Asia 2025 aims to double the participation from the previous year and elevate the event with enhanced interactive experiences and networking opportunities. The global experts participating in Coinfest Asia 2025 include leading figures from the crypto and Web3 industry such as blockchain technology innovators, digital identity specialists, AI and blockchain researchers, and regulatory policy advisors.

Coinfest Asia 2025 is expected to focus on critical industry challenges such as real-world assets (RWA), digital identity, AI in blockchain, and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Saudi Arabia was mentioned as a region of interest in the crypto industry, with its developments shaping the landscape.

Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) will assume regulatory oversight of the crypto industry from BAPPEBTI, expected to foster a more conducive and stable environment. TRIVE general partner Daryl Lim was also interviewed, detailing his shift from Metapal Teletubbies to Venture Capital.

Yat Siu was also interviewed on the Blockcast podcast series, discussing his views on the crypto industry and Animoca Brands' strategies. The event facilitated the creation of over 25,000 meaningful connections, underscoring its role as a key platform for industry networking.
