UAE Offers Free Google Gemini Pro Subscriptions to Students
The UAE Government, in collaboration with Google, is offering a complimentary 12-month subscription to Google Gemini's Pro plan for eligible university students aged 18 and above. Students can register using their personal email before December 9, 2025. This initiative aligns with the UAE's vision to build a knowledge-driven society powered by technology, as stated by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications.
The programme aims to equip students with practical experience in artificial intelligence and integrate AI into their academic and professional growth. The American University in the Emirates (AUE) has already provided its students with a free one-year pro subscription to Google Gemini, offering access to advanced tools like Gemini 2.5 Pro, Deep Research, NotebookLM, and Veo 3 for generating short AI-powered videos. This move supports the UAE's National AI Strategy, focusing on developing local talent and fostering innovation through emerging technologies. Anthony Nakache, Google's Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa, highlighted a 110 percent increase in Google searches on AI and education topics in the UAE compared to last year, indicating growing interest and demand for AI education.
The UAE Government's partnership with Google provides university students with valuable resources to explore and learn about artificial intelligence. By offering free access to Google Gemini's Pro plan, the initiative encourages students to develop their skills and contribute to the UAE's AI-driven future.
