Ukraine Uses Drone to Disable Russian Air Defense System
Ukrainian forces have employed a unique tactic using a drone to disable Russian air defense systems. The operation involved an FPV drone developed by Lasar's Group, which was used to infiltrate and destroy a Buk-series air defense system.
The drone, initially mistaken by Russian troops for a harmless object, was able to travel 15 kilometers on a Buk-series loader towards the enemy launcher. Once in position, the drone self-destructed, causing significant damage or destruction to at least one Russian vehicle and triggering the destruction of the hostile air defense equipment.
Earlier, the resistance group ATESH played a crucial role by providing photos and coordinates of the deployed Buk air defense system to Ukrainian forces. This intelligence allowed Ukrainian forces to plan and execute the drone operation. After the drone's explosion, Russian personnel were seen fleeing the scene.
The use of FPV drones as weapons has proven effective in disrupting Russian air defense systems in the ongoing Ukraine war. This tactic demonstrates the innovative strategies employed by Ukrainian forces in their conflict with Russia.
