University of Brunswick Buzzing with Democracy Day, Wave Energy Project, and More
The University of Brunswick is abuzz with activity, both on and off campus. From celebrations to innovative projects and events, here's what's happening.
Kicking off the season is the Day of Democracy on September 15th. From 11:55 AM, the University Plaza will host numerous activities to mark the occasion.
Meanwhile, the COIN project is set to begin on November 1st. This €4 million initiative, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to enhance future wave power plants. Led by the Technical University of Brunswick, nine European organizations are collaborating to develop cutting-edge solutions for wave energy farms.
On campus, the first Summer School on 'Automotive Circular Economy' recently took place at the joint Campus Arizona. For parents, a new Parent-Child Office is now available in the PVZ, offering support in case of emergencies.
The INTERXR Project wraps up with its final conference on September 25th and 26th, exploring the theme 'Immersive worlds, real education?'.
Mascha Pfeiffer, a student assistant, shared her experiences studying at our university and living in Brunswick on Spiegel-Online. Prof. Fahim Mohammadi has taken the helm of the new Institute for Design Methodology and Representation since September 1st.
The university's support extends beyond campus. It's backing the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences with the HiPerCoRig, a sea drilling system capable of obtaining drill cores at depths up to 200 meters.
Looking ahead, the digital event series 'Impulshäppchen' features a short lecture by Prof. Simone Kauffeld on meetings on September 16th. An online information event on the 'Toolbox for Conversation Leadership' is scheduled for September 17th.
