Workshop led by Steve Sandler, focusing on Power Integrity issues and solutions
Join Steve Sandler, a globally recognised power expert, for a two-day hands-on power integrity workshop on December 3rd and 4th, taking place at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.
This advanced training series focuses on the analysis, design, and measurement of power delivery networks (PDNs) in electronic systems. Attendees will learn about high-fidelity measurement, design, and simulation techniques, as well as specific measurements critical for success, including impedance, stability, PSRR, time domain, and ripple measurements.
The workshop is designed to provide attendees with the fundamentals of power integrity. Through practical exercises on real-world PCB power system designs, attendees will gain confidence in their ability to apply these skills on their own, at their workplace.
The curriculum covers topics like impedance matching, oscilloscope noise floor, ripple, step load, PDN and flat impedance measurement, clock jitter/spectrum analysis, noise density, EMI, and troubleshooting with near field probes.
The necessary test equipment for completing the measurements successfully will be covered in the workshop. This includes high-bandwidth oscilloscopes to capture fast transients and switching noise, vector network analyzers (VNAs) to measure impedance profiles over frequency, low-inductance probes and current probes, spectrum analyzers for noise spectrum and time-frequency analysis, high-quality signal generators and power supplies, precision passive components and decoupling capacitors for lab exercises, and stability and PSRR measurement tools.
The price for the workshop is $1,500 per person, which includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks. However, attendees will need to arrange their own accommodation and transportation.

Please note that detailed information about the specific curriculum and exact equipment lists for this workshop may be available through authorized distributors, professional training companies, or directly from 3PG Labs, Steve Sandler’s company, which offers these workshops.
A video overview of the previous workshop held at the Levi's Stadium is available for those who would like a sneak peek. Attendees will learn how to measure each portion of the Power Distribution Network (PDN) and how to interpret an impedance plot and use it to optimize performance.
This workshop is a great opportunity for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of power integrity and gain practical, hands-on experience in this crucial area of electronics design. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to learn from a power expert and take your skills to the next level.
Technology plays a significant role in the workshop, as attendees will learn about high-fidelity measurement, design, and simulation techniques, and use high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers, low-inductance probes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and stability and PSRR measurement tools.
The workshops offered by 3PG Labs, Steve Sandler’s company, aim to provide attendees with practical, hands-on experience in power integrity, leveraging advanced technology for a comprehensive understanding of power delivery networks in electronic systems.
