Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra Electric Vehicle Clocks Fastest Lap Time in Production Cars, Outperforming Porsche

In a thrilling display of electric vehicle prowess, Xiaomi's latest offering, the SU7 Ultra, has made history at the renowned Nürburgring race track in Germany. On April 1, 2025, the SU7 Ultra, driven by Vincent Radermecker, set a blistering lap time of **7:04.957** on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, shattering records for the fastest mass-produced electric vehicle and the fastest road-legal four-door vehicle, surpassing the Rimac Nevera and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

At the heart of the SU7 Ultra's exceptional performance lies its innovative powertrain. The vehicle is equipped with three electric motors developed by Xiaomi: two HyperEngine V8s and one HyperEngine V6s, delivering a combined power output of **1,138 kW (1,547 PS; 1,526 hp)** and torque of **1,770 Nm (1,305 lb-ft)**. Each V8 motor produces 425 kW and 635 Nm of torque, while the V6 motor adds 288 kW and 400 Nm.

The SU7 Ultra's performance figures are nothing short of astonishing. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking **1.98 seconds**, 0 to 200 km/h in a mere **5.96 seconds**, and 0 to 300 km/h in just **15 seconds**. The vehicle covers 0 to 400 meters in an impressive **9.23 seconds**, and its top speed exceeds 350 km/h, with a recorded max speed of 359.71 km/h, limited by the test facility itself.

Car enthusiasts and reviewers have been equally impressed by the SU7 Ultra's handling and braking systems, which include a dual-chamber Bilstein suspension and carbon ceramic brakes with large discs and rotors. These features have left traditional petrol car fans in awe, providing race-grade performance on the road.

The SU7 Ultra also boasts a fast-charging system, capable of charging from 10% to 80% in about 11 minutes, and offers about 630 km of CLTC range.

Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 Ultra in February 2025, aiming to compete with Tesla's Model 3. Despite strong demand, production constraints have resulted in wait times of up to 41 weeks for the SU7. The company is preparing to expand production capacity before entering overseas markets around 2027.

The SU7 Ultra deliveries began in March, with over 10,000 confirmed orders for the high-performance model. The vehicle's record-breaking performance, advanced motor technology, and competitive features for the premium EV segment have undoubtedly captured the attention of car enthusiasts worldwide.

As Xiaomi's founder and CEO, Lei Jun, expressed his pride in setting the fastest electric production car record at Nürburgring, he also suggested that the record will be broken again, possibly by Xiaomi itself. The company's entry into the EV market with the SU7 Ultra marks a significant step forward in the race to develop high-performance electric vehicles.

The SU7 Ultra's impressive performance and advanced technology have positioned Xiaomi at the forefront of the electric vehicle market, setting new records and challenging traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. This high-performance electric vehicle, with its sleek design and cutting-edge gadgets like the HyperEngine V8 and V6 motors, is more than just a car; it's a statement about the company's commitment to redefining the lifestyle of the 21st century.
