Yangwang U9 Xtreme Sets New World Record for Fastest Production Car

Yangwang, a luxury sub-brand of Chinese automaker BYD Auto, has made waves in the world market with its U9 Xtreme. This electric hypercar has set a new world news record for the fastest production car, reaching an astonishing top speed of 308.4 mph (496.22 km/h) on the ATP Automotive Testing track in Papenburg, Germany. The U9 Xtreme has surpassed the previous record holder, the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which clocked in at 304.8 mph (490 km/h). Yangwang's achievement is even more impressive considering the U9 Xtreme's significantly lower price tag of 1.68 million yuan (approximately 200,000 euros) in China, compared to its competitors in the world market. The U9 Xtreme's record-breaking performance can be attributed to its improved aerodynamic components, designed to maximize downforce and stability at extreme speeds. Powering this beast is a quartet of ultra-fast electric motors, each delivering 555 kW, resulting in a total output of approximately 2,220 kW (around 2,977 hp). This allows the U9 Xtreme to sprint from 0-62 mph in a mere 1.8 seconds and reach a quarter mile in just 8.6 seconds. With production limited to only 30 units worldwide, the U9 Xtreme is not just fast, but also exclusive in the world news of automotive enthusiasts. The Yangwang U9 Xtreme has rewritten the rulebook for electric hypercars, proving that speed and exclusivity need not come at an exorbitant price in the world market. Its record-breaking performance and limited production run have solidified its status as a true collector's item in the automotive world.
