Zoom Announces Enhanced AI Assistant Capabilities, Introducing Agent-like Functions and Personalized AI Agents
Zoom, the popular video communications platform, has unveiled an expansion of its AI Companion platform. This expansion aims to bolster productivity, simplify workflows, and strengthen relationships.
The expanded role of AI Companion now includes task orchestration and decision-making capabilities, enabling it to learn over time and improve efficiency. This new agentic AI will cover a wide range of Zoom services, including Zoom Meetings, Zoom Phone, Zoom Team Chat, Zoom Docs, and Zoom Contact Center.
In March, Zoom is set to launch a new mobile voice recorder, offering transcription and action item extraction. This tool will undoubtedly prove useful for users on the go.
AI-generated meeting agendas and live notes will debut in May, while AI-generated clinical notes for Zoom Workplace for Clinicians are expected in late March. Zoom Drive, a centralized content repository, will launch in May, providing a convenient hub for all your Zoom documents.
Zoom Tasks with AI Companion will make its debut in late March, offering a streamlined approach to task management. For organizations seeking a more customised AI Companion, Glean's Work AI for All Agent will offer a Custom-AI-Companion add-on in April. This add-on will allow AI Companions to be customized with meeting templates, industry-specific voice options, and external data sources.
The Custom AI Companion add-on will also offer features such as a personal AI coach, custom meeting summaries, and the ability to create custom avatars for Zoom Clips using user-provided scripts.
Zoom Contact Center will feature Zoom Virtual Agent for voice and chat, along with AI-intent routing and Advanced Quality Management. AI-intent routing will launch in March, while Advanced Quality Management is expected in May.
Zoom Workplace for Frontline, a suite of mobile-first tools for on-shift workers, will launch in April. The platform will integrate agentic skills for marketing, sales, and customer care.
In addition, Zoom is expanding its hardware certification program in April to include document cameras for education and patient-room cameras for healthcare.
Notably, Zoom AI Companion continues to be included at no extra cost for customers with paid Zoom accounts.
The new features and add-ons aim to make Zoom an even more comprehensive solution for businesses, streamlining workflows and enhancing productivity. With these new developments, Zoom is positioning itself as a leader in the integration of AI technology into everyday business operations.
